Kenya Leahy describes the inspiration for this year’s sun hoodie artwork as: “The raging Colorado River is an abundant life source in the middle of a sun blasted canyon. Usually, the depth and pure intensity of the current makes spotting fish and other riparian species near impossible. Often, the only place to view fish is in the small inlets of calm warm water that are trapped near beaches or other variations in the rivers bank. I loved to sit on the warm sand and be very still until the fish felt it was safe to come to the shallow waters where the sun breaks through the surface and makes them sparkle.”
