Trip coordinators play an integral part in the Grand Canyon Youth experience.

As trip coordinator, you’re responsible for various planning tasks associated with your program. You work with directly with students throughout the entire program, helping them accomplish their pre-trip requirements, supporting them as they journey through their on-river experience, and guiding them as they come back to everyday life and share their experiences with others.

You also work directly with GCY staff to create a custom trip that meets your group’s needs.

Where can my group go, and for how long?

GCY runs custom trips in Grand Canyon and on the San Juan River. Trips can last anywhere from 4 to 7 days. All custom Grand Canyon trips launch at Diamond Creek.

So what exactly are my responsibilities?

The trip coordinator provides continuity throughout the GCY process. You assist with pre-trip planning, on river facilitation and post-trip follow-up. You will receive a complete trip coordinator manual when your group has signed up for a program. We are happy to assist you in this process. Visit our Custom Trips page to learn more.

How do I get started?
